Position Summary
With the recent increase in fraud attempts surrounding payments, it is critical that we strengthen and centralize the CIB fraud control program. Protecting our clients and the firm from cyber fraud is essential in reducing operational, regulatory and reputational risk, as well as reducing costs incurred due to fraudulent payments.
The Lead Business Analyst / Project Manager will facilitate the delivery of the end-to-end requirements for the Fraud Risk program. The Payments Control & Fraud Risk Group is responsible for reviewing, assessing and providing guidelines for existing and emerging CIB-wide fraud threats and thematic trends identified by LoBs. The group evaluates fraud threats and develops strategies to better detect and mitigate fraud risks across the firm, providing oversight for implementation and streamlining of controls. The candidate will work closely with Cybersecurity, Technology and Operations across CIB (Banking, Investor Services and Markets).
The position will be part of the Fraud Risk pillar in the Payments Control and Fraud Risk team, under CIB Oversight and Controls.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze Technology and Operational landscape for fraud control across CIB.
  • Identify and communicate control gaps, risks and interdependencies.
  • Facilitate development of remediation plans, feasibility analysis and estimates, and champion plans to senior management.
  • Leverage existing similar programs to address remediation.
  • Determine execution owners, timelines and milestones, and develop scorecards for reporting.
  • Gather knowledge around the business domain and business drivers to better assist in reaching consensus, providing direction, and developing a vision and roadmap for the program and/or project(s)
  • Run workshops to drive requirements and agree priorities
  • Assist in instituting management and operational processes/methodologies to increase productivity and effectiveness
  • Develop detailed, structured, clear and comprehensive business requirements documentation e.g. process flows, state diagrams.
  • Contribute to the development of client and internal education plans and materials.
  • Involvement in other key global, strategic initiatives, as directed
  • Drive progress through effective escalation of issues and risks
  • Seasoned professional with 3-5 years business analysis experience in Financial Services, Operational Risk Management, Control Oversight and/or similar role
  • Strong collaborative skills and demonstrated ability to work across functions with project sponsors and balance the needs of multiple stakeholder groups
  • Detail oriented with strong experience doing “deep dives” with subject matter experts and documenting system and process flows.
  • Strong presentation skills including generating presentations and effectively communicating to senior management
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills a must
  • Knowledge of CIB products and organization (Markets, Banking, Investor Services)
  • Well developed understanding of risk and controls
  • Creative and innovative problem solver, with attention to detail, ability to communicate new ideas, and inspire support
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently, driving projects to completion.
  • Experience coordinating project deliverables.
  • Demonstrated comfort level with data manipulation and analysis in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to manage to tight delivery timelines and remain calm under high pressure.
  • Able to influence stakeholders across operations and technology
  • Knowledge of payments processing and systems a plus.
  • Very strong performer as evidenced in annual reviews.
