Human Resource Technology (HRT) - Human Resource Technology (HRT) is the central steward for the design, build, and asset management for the firm's Human Capital technology across all lines of business and global regions.  JP Morgan is competitive across the financial services industry in our workforce strategy capabilities.  In partnership with our HR business partners and service providers we deliver solutions that meet the requirements of our key clients - JP Morgan employees.  HRT provides technology support for staffing and on-boarding, employee records, payroll, talent management, compensation, benefits, learning, employee and manager service, workforce planning and analytics, and back office call center operations.


The HR Technology Platform & Planning Systems Application Developer Data Scientists will work on a team responsible for leveraging large quantities of HR related information to assist HR business partners, users and employees.  The role implements statistical models and applies machine learning to create usable systems across the HR business landscape.  The Data Analyst will be asked to work on a highly agile team, and deliver on a prioritized backlog based on business aligned value. 


This role is responsible for expertise to drive solutions that meet HR business needs. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven leadership in enterprise testing, business analysis, client engagement, production operations, and the application of emerging technologies related to Big Data.


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, data analytical & execution skills along with leadership, client and relationship management skills. The candidate must have proven successes in balancing long term visionary planning capabilities with the ability to create, practical, actionable plans that are coherent and understood by all stakeholders. Beyond excellent data and architecture skills, the ideal candidate will be an innovative, commercially inclined to create genuine business value through the alignment of technology, data and business interests.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with various HR & JPMC functional groups to analyze business needs to provide appropriate, innovative, and cost effective solutions
  • Gather, manipulate and analyze large datasets to extract useful insights related to HR business problems, test and validate machine learning algorithms
  • Build production quality data products to deploy predictive models
  • Clearly communicate insights with teammates and stakeholders

    • M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics or a related discipline required; Ph.D. preferred
    • 3-5 years of academic or professional experience in advanced analytics
    • Significant SQL and Python or R/SAS programming experience required
    • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and Apache Spark a plus
    • Strong communication skills and a team oriented attitude
