Associate - Prod Support

Job Description

Production Support Analyst is an individual contributor position on the production support team. Production support team monitors and maintains data processing jobs for External Reporting. This involves making sure both nightly scheduled jobs, and any manual run or updates needed, are completed timely and accurately. Team responsibilities include support for new projects as part of change management process; troubleshoot production issues, and works with application development team in solution design. Responsible for providing cross impact analysis for any source data availability or access change, environment outage (planned and unplanned), and working with development team for production releases including QA and pre-prod/UAT.
Specific responsibilities/skills:
  • Monitor and provide application and environment support, identify and resolve any productions issues within established SLAs.
  • Create and/or maintain all relevant production support documentation including change management process and procedures, job run book, data backup and retention policy, and applicable access controls documentation
  • Performing schema cleanup for obsolete objects and reoccurring data backups
  • Manage schema and resource access on all environments
  • Lower environment readiness for change request development and testing for monthly and emergency releases. Tasks include, but are not limited to, maintaining object level sample selection for reoccurring data refresh requests, ad hoc data requests necessary for individual change requests
  • Maintain and publish approved SRS calendar
  • Participate in periodic production support meetings and other process improvement initiatives
  • Administer code version repository by creating approved code repository branches, migrating deployment objects into tag folders, purging approved obsolete repository objects, and keeping trunk folder in sync with production
  • BE/B.Tech/MCA degree
  • 5+ years experience in a process environment, preferably within the Mortgage Servicing or other financial services industry
  • Experience with Subversion or similar source code versioning tools
  • Experience with scheduling tool such as Control-M or similar tools
  • Advanced knowledge of change management methodologies/guidelines
  • Participated in all phases of the system development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Candidate must have extensive experience with Oracle and PL/SQL. Preferred experience in Query Optimization, Debugging, and Tuning for improving performance
