Business Description
Derivative Clearing Operations support JP Morgan's global exchange traded futures and options brokerage business. Business provides investors and hedgers access to exchange traded listed derivatives throughout the world and acts solely as the client’s agent on brokerage transactions, and never as principal.  Services include:
  • Developing trade ideas and portfolio management strategies in derivative markets;
  • Identifying relative value between and among derivative and cash instruments;
  • Quantifying the risks and profit opportunities of trades involving futures and options;
  • Executing client trades for fixed income, money market, foreign exchange, commodity and equity-related futures and options on exchanges worldwide;
  • Clearing and settling futures and options transactions;
  • Posting the margins required by exchanges, using cash or securities in ways most convenient to the client ; and
  • Providing operational information about client’s transactions in flexible and responsive electronic or paper formats.
  • Settling our client’s execution brokerage fees.
     
    Job Functions and Responsibilities of DCO
    The Derivatives Clearing Operations (DCO) team has two key responsibilities.
  1. Client Services: provide valuable post-transaction services to both of internal and external clients mainly located in Japan on behalf of overseas entities in the UK and US.
Responsibilities include :
Client onboarding support as liaison between onboarding entity and the client
Ensure client’s requests and query is addressed by appropriate internal team
Ensure statements delivered to clients are accurate and timely, and trade matching process is duly conducted
  1. Exchange Interface’s role is to manage clearing of listed derivatives trades executed at OSE/TFX including regulatory reporting
    Responsibilities include:
    Settlement with local exchanges, clearing house and external clients
    Legal Ledger and Regulatory report generation and control
    Reconciliation with the exchange and clearing house
    Project driven by business initiatives, market changes and internal system changes   
Qualifications
 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in investment banking operations role
  • Experience with F&O product in any capacity is preferable
  • Client service skills, including inter-personal skills, business manner and capturing of clients’ requirements and delivery of solutions.
  • Team worker who is also able to take leadership and influence colleagues to deliver the result
  • Strong verbal and written bilingual (Japanese and English) communication, including negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn to catch up expected level of product knowledge / regulatory requirements
  • Time management skills required to meet the many internal and external deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Project management skills and experience will be an advantage
