Corporate – Human Resources – HR Business Partner – VP/ED - Geneva

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will manage the HR needs of a number of client groups across JPMorgan Private Bank, primarily in Geneva with a small client base in Zurich.  In this fast paced, dynamic environment you will be part of a team who identifies, develops and delivers solutions based on business priorities and consult with all levels of management and employees on the entire spectrum of the HR agenda. You will partner closely with HR colleagues to develop and implement specific HR programs directly aligned to business strategy and supporting an inclusive culture and environment that is respectful of all individuals.
This position will report to the Head of HR, Switzerland with a matrix reporting line to the Head of HR, Private Bank, EMEA.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with clients and provide trusted advice to develop and implement a local people strategy based on business priorities and aligned to the global and regional people agenda.
  • Build strong partnerships, establish and maintain productive business relationships with key clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Drive HR initiatives and projects on talent and resourcing strategy: identify future leaders, skill gaps and talent;  help clients develop comprehensive succession plans;  deliver creative solutions to mobilise expertise within the firm; partner closely with recruitment team members to deliver hiring needs.
  • In partnership with Learning and Development, ensure the training needs and activities within the business produce the skills and knowledge required to meet the future needs of the business. Assist managers in developing the careers of their staff.
  • Actively partner with the HR specialist groups (Payroll and Benefits, Compensation, etc…) to deliver quality solutions to meet client needs.
  • Partner with the business to identify, attract, retain and develop diverse talent by fostering mobility and career development
  • Educate and partner with managers throughout the performance management cycle.
  • Manage year end compensation planning process while ensuring a strong link to performance. Understand compensation regulatory environment, market conditions and compensation related matters on an on-going basis.
  • Partner with Corporate Employee Relations and Legal to manage specific employee or manager employee relations cases.
  • Partner with clients to design organisational structure including efficiency reviews and strategic support in developing headcount initiatives e.g. location strategy, restructures.
  • Manage risk by implementing  appropriate controls in all HR activities.
Essential Skills/Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide HR consultation on issues including Employee Relations, Resourcing, Diversity, Compensation, HR policies and Performance & Talent Management. 
  • Experience of implementing HR programmes/driving HR specific projects.
  • Ability to generate solutions to new situations based on prior HR experience.
  • Ability to navigate a complex organization and partner effectively with multiple client areas and HR specialists on issues across the business.
  • Strong risk and control mindset demonstrated through awareness of HR’s role in governance and control.
  • Proven track record of building strong partnerships and ability to work collegiately as part of a busy team.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to multi-task and prioritise to achieve progress and deliver value add to the business.
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • HR experience gained in financial services industry or a regulated, fast-paced industry. 
  • Strong PC skills with hands-on experience in Excel, Word and PowerPoint,
  • Strong knowledge of local Labour Law preferred
  • English and French language skills, German a plus
The position is based in Geneva. Occasional, planned travel within Europe may be required.
 
The hiring manager for this job opening would be willing to have a conversation about flexibility.  This could range from ad hoc flexibility in a full time position, to a more formal Flexible Work Arrangement.
 
All internal moves will normally take place on the same grade and same salary. Salaries are reviewed annually in February. Exceptions to the rule regarding transfer on current salary may include a move between geographic locations.
