J.P. Morgan International Bank Limited (JPMIB) is the primary entity which is used to provide private banking services to ultra high net worth (UHNW) and high net worth (HNW) individuals in the EMEA region, excluding Switzerland. It is also the entity which provides banking, trading, and brokerage and custody services to clients of the Global Wealth Management (GWM) in Asia. JPMIB is a UK bank and is regulated by the PRA and FCA; it operates out of its UK head office with branches in Brussels, Frankfurt, Madrid and Milan. 

 

The UK Mortgage Advisory Team was created in April 2010 to focus on providing high value UK mortgages to new and existing high net worth and ultra high net worth clients and currently consists of 4 individuals. UK Mortgages have been earmarked as an important growth strategy for the Private Bank and hence the team is expected to grow in coming years.

 

Role:

 

As a vice-president within the mortgage advisory team you will manage a portfolio of clients and their highly demanding and complex mortgage requirements; giving mortgage advice where appropriate and processing all regulated and non regulated mortgage transactions whilst providing an exceptional client experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee underwriting process, collateral, financial and cash flow analysis.
  • Submit approvals to Credit Executive, work with documentation team and operational support to execute mortgage loans
  • Liaise with Mortgage Support team to facilitate contact with external legal council and other internal parties to get a mortgage in place.  
  • Partner with Mortgage Support team to oversee portfolio maintenance (covenants, insurance certificates, renewals, etc…)
  • Complete annual mortgage portfolio reviews where applicable
  • Work with bankers, investors, and other front office partners as well as internal control and risk functions on every aspect of the mortgage process.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Previous demonstrable mortgage experience with HNW and UHNW clients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with credit and lending products
  •  Excellent client and negotiation skills
  • Good general market knowledge including mortgages
  • CeMAP registered
  • Knowledge of mortgage underwriting and conveyancing in the UK
  • Knowledge of mortgage underwriting and conveyancing  in key European countries is a plus
  • Foreign languages is a plus

PLEASE NOTE: ALL INTERNAL MOVES WILL NORMALLY TAKE PLACE ON THE SAME GRADE AND SAME SALARY. SALARIES ARE REVIEWED ANUALLY IN FEBRUARY. EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE REGARDING TRANSFER ON CURRENT SALARY MAY INCLUDE A MOVE BETWEEN GEOGRAPHIC LOCATIONS.
