Cross Line of Business Financial Controllers: Analyst


The Financial Control team is part of Corporate Finance and provides financial control services across business aligned teams.   There are also several cross business teams including core accounting, regulatory reporting and an internal control team that houses the functions and processes common to all businesses. This model allows the participating businesses to more easily share best practices and better leverage their collective talent, all while ensuring that the business-aligned teams keep their strong connection and relationships with the business managers in the primary locations. The FC organization is based in Newark, Delaware and Mumbai, India. 


We are looking for ambitious professionals with 1 – 2 years of experience or new graduates.  This role focuses on ensuring financial data integrity and providing support to Line of Business finance users for the core finance systems and provides exposure to process and exceptions management, diverse technology platforms, and controls definition and execution.


Primary Responsibilities of a Financial Control Analysts will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and validity of line of business general ledger accounts; including adherence to the firmwide General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation (GLRS) standards
  • Ensure adherence to P&L and Balance Sheet controls owned by Financial Control; including identifying  and implementing opportunities for efficiency
  • Analysis, communication and resolution of material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems; as defined by line of business
  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player who will thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Possess strong attention to detail and analytical problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skills
  • Aptitude for consuming large amounts of data quickly and apply acquired knowledge to improve and execute responsibilities
  • Ability to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues

Education/ Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree demonstrating a well rounded academic background; GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred
  • Relevant internship experience and demonstrated leadership in a school or community organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of financial statements, accounting procedures, internal and external reporting, and variance analysis.
