Information Technology Business Analyst Internal Job description:
The online transaction processing systems ITBA will have responsibility for drafting the technical/function requirements for projects involving Chase Commerce Solutions’ Tandem and Stratus front-end online transaction processing systems.  This position requires a collaborative individual capable of understanding and navigating the impact of new products, enhancements, and compliance mandate implications across multiple systems.  The selected candidate will work across processing platforms and departments to analyze and translate business requirements into functional documents for Technology development.  Additional documentation support requirements include an understanding of transaction message and file format specifications utilized in platform communications.  The ideal person for this role is a one with a technical background who possesses a blend of business analysis and tactical execution skills and who can take input and guidance from a broad range of stakeholders and create technical requirements and documentation for the development teams. The individual will also serve as mentor and subject matter expert to other product managers and support teams.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This is an Information Technology Business Analyst position.
  • Translate business requirements for online payment card transaction processing initiatives into functional/technical requirements and specifications necessary to execute business needs.
  • Document functional requirements specific to online payment card transaction processing for both the Tandem retail ‘card present’ front-end systems and for the Stratus ‘card not present’ ecommerce front-end systems.
  • Work closely with Tandem and Stratus development and users to communicate functional requirements and convey the business needs.
  • Create mockups and field level specifications when necessary to define specific reports, screens or other application functionality.
  • Gather functional requirements by engaging the appropriate users and stakeholders in requirements gathering sessions using various methodologies including use case analysis, and business process analysis, and workflow modeling.
  • Collaborate with QA and Business Product Managers on test scenarios based on functional requirements.
  • Act as a leader in a cross-functional team led by Business Engineering and IT Project Management, to collaborate and implement business objectives and project deliverables across multiple application platforms and Lines of Business.
  • Participate in analysis and design to provide feedback to both Tandem and Stratus development.
  • Create and maintain documentation on components, applications, and multi-platform products of Chase Commerce Solutions as part of each project.
  • Analyze and provide feedback on the business needs documents.
  • Define business rules when necessary to support business processes.
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
  • Define new business process or changes to existing business processes as necessary to support the integration of new products and services into our existing multi-platform business model.
  • Recommend technical and process improvements where possible to improve the overall effectiveness or marketability of a product.
  • Create new procedures when appropriate to improve operational proficiency.
  • Train peer ITBAs and Integration Consulting Engineers as part of each project implementation to production.
  • Provide on-going support to other departments as required.
  • Provide regular timely status updates.

 

  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in software development
  • Experience in systems development life cycle including waterfall and agile delivery SDLC
  • Understanding of online transaction processing and broad knowledge of financial/banking
  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
  • Experience with developing Functional Specifications, Process Flows, Use Cases and other SDLC deliverables
  • Self-starter with excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred skills  
  • Merchant acquiring business experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with online credit or debit card payments processing.
  • Tandem and/or Stratus application support experience
