J.P. Morgan International Bank Limited (JPMIB) is the primary entity which is used to provide private banking services to high net worth (HNW) and ultra high net worth (UHNW) individuals in the EMEA region, excluding Switzerland. It is also the entity which provides banking, trading, and brokerage and custody services to clients of the Global Wealth Management (GWM) in Asia. JPMIB is a UK bank and is regulated by the PRA and FCA; it operates out of its UK head office and branches in Brussels, Frankfurt, Madrid and Milan.
The JPMIB Business Manager (BM) will be responsible for overseeing the entity’s day-to-day operations on behalf of the JPMIB Management Committee and JPMIB CEO. The JPMIB BM will report into the Private Bank EMEA Senior Business Manager and will be a key member of management, responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient approach to all regulatory and control matters for the entity. As a key senior manager for the entity, the JPMIB BM will be a highly visible role which will require the ability to influence effectively at all levels.
The JPMIB BM will also be responsible for:
Direct oversight of the business managers supporting the entity both in the UK and across the branches, including market aligned teams
Supporting the business initiatives for markets booked into the entity
Helping to drive the resolution of risk, legal & compliance issues impacting the entity
Acting as the business lead in coordinating responses to local and global regulators, including preparation for regulatory visits
Approving new product and business initiatives, ensuring the overall impact on the entity has been understood and any implementation/control gaps addressed
Governance of the consolidated entity and branch regulatory reporting, and oversight of the team responsible for Client Money and Assets reporting and Deposit Guarantee Schemes Directive processes
Ensuring consistency of operations across the branches and delivering entity-wide initiatives
Partnering with Corporate Real Estate on management and oversight of premises across the entity and it’s branches
Oversight of Service Level agreements (internal/external); in particular the activities provided by JPM Suisse to JPMIB
Contingency and resiliency planning
Background in Private Banking or Asset Management including understanding of the products and services
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. The BM will need to be comfortable and effective in communicating with senior management and across various functions
Proven leadership, people management and organisational skills
Ability to bring a variety of issues to resolution, though personal efforts, directing a team and/or leveraging/influencing other functions
Strong risk and control mind-set
Proactive attitude, self starter and open to feedback
Action oriented with strong analytical skills and a proven ability for problem solving
Minimum qualifications would be a Bachelor's degree, although an advanced degree or certification would be considered a plus
European language skills would be beneficial
