Job Description

Our Structured Products cover the full range of asset classes, including equities, credit, interest rates, currencies, commodities, funds and alternative investments.
These investments can provide different levels of principal protection, asset linked coupons, opportunities to hedge or diversify risk, access to markets that may be inaccessible and management of credit exposure. Our Notes, Certificates and Warrants are purchased by clients in locations across Europe and the Middle East including Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, UK and Scandinavia.
This is a key role, which will focus on the drafting and query resolution of structured equity derivatives, the role will report into the Manager of the Drafting team. The successful candidate will play a role towards the strategic development of the structured documentation function of the Equities asset class. Prime responsibility will focus on ensuring timely and accurate confirmation drafting ensuring that all steps of the firm's procedural, legal, regulatory and audit compliance frameworks are met. This will be a particularly challenging role in that it focuses on the firm's more bespoke and non standardized end of the documentation spectrum.
The Group is undergoing significant investment in technology and business needs. As such, the successful candidate must demonstrate an open and flexible approach, coupled with both a breadth and depth of technical documentation experience and interpersonal skills.
Primary Responsibilities include:
  • Day to day drafting and query resolution for all aspects of structured drafting working to servicec the client (internal and external)
  • Work closely with the Business (Desk Heads, legal,  Business Managers)
  • Look towards STP enhancement  understanding client nuance, templating and submission tmeliness
  • Active participation in client negotiations in order to promptly resolve issues and ensure risk mitigation
  • Act as point of contact for the client
  • Where possible, work with legal during the master agreement negotiation in order to ensure that mutually acceptable templates are agreed within the firms counterparties ahead of trading.
  • Submission to regulatory time lines remains a key priority and seeking any STP gain an essential component.
  • Ensuring that all confirmations reconciliations and queries are cleared with no outstandings in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all operational and tech issues are logged, monitored and progressed, with responsibilities and ownership cross location and cross product
  • Liase with DCO team, where necessary for management of  Confirmation exceptions
  • Maintain key client facing support surrounding all outstanding activity
  • Develop automation solutions that support the client
  • Roll out functionality that promotes STP in capture of client information
  • Maximise client leverage of self service tools (Thunderhead)
Mandatory Qualities
  • Degree Educated
  • Derivatives product experience specifically operational processing experience required
  • Understanding of the transactional documentation processes within differing financial OTC markets.
  • Technical proficiency in the documentation of Equities' products.
  • Experience of interpreting, and demonstrating an understanding of, legal documentation within the ISDA Equities documentation environment.
  • Experience of interpreting, and demonstrating an understanding of, legal documentation within the ISDA Equities documentation environment.
  • Excellent documentation negotiation skills.
  • The ability to understand complex derivative structures and break them down into their component parts.
  • Demonstration of an up-to-date awareness of industry initiatives and projects in the Equities markets, especially within ISDA. Understanding of FED targets.
  • Client or IB middle office experience preferred
  • Understand Derivative confirmations and settlements.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience
