Departmental Description:
JPMC’s Internal Audit Department, which is comprised of over 900 auditors globally, reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is further accountable to the Chairman and CEO, senior management, and the regulators. Audit is an independent risk assessment function established within the organization to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management’s system of internal control. 
The Corporate Finance Audit team provides audit coverage of Corporate Finance including Regulatory Capital Management Office (RCMO), which oversees the regulatory capital reporting process – CCAR and Basel FFIEC 101 reporting.
 
Position Description:
The Corporate Sector Finance CCAR and Basel Team Lead, based in New York, will report to the Corporate Sector Finance Senior Audit Manager and will manage a New York based team responsible for the CCAR and Basel Audit Plan.  The individual will be involved in assessing the control environment supporting the firm's implementation of the Basel regulatory capital rules and will be responsible for coordinating coverage across the firm’s Lines-of-Business and relevant supporting functions, including Finance, Risk Management, and Technology.  This individual will maintain key stakeholder relationships and provide control related advice to business stakeholders.  The auditor will also be involved in the planning, execution and documentation of Basel related audits.  The candidate should possess strong project management, analytical and communication skills and have an ability to work with minimal supervision.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Audit Department Subject Matter Expert for Basel, providing rule interpretation/guidance to other line-of-business and functional audit teams.
  • Remain current with evolving regulatory and external events in the Basel / Regulatory Capital space, including review of new guidance and rules as they are issued by regulators to assess impact.
  • Coordinate Basel related audit coverage. Lead and be involved in various audit activities including performance of risk assessments, audit planning, testing, documentation, control evaluation and reporting to senior management
  • Oversee and execute the CCAR Audit plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, establishing a culture of engagement and partnership while adding value and driving change.
  • Partner across other LOB and Functional Audit teams to deliver a seamless program of firm-wide Basel audit coverage.
  • Promote a culture that encourages integrity, respect, inclusion, innovation and excellence.
Qualifications:

 

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.  10+ years audit or relevant business line/risk management experience.
    • Strong knowledge of Basel regulatory capital rules and their interpretation in the financial services industry and by regulators.
    • Strong knowledge of capital planning, capital management, stress testing, financial forecasting and/or CCAR reporting
    • Ability to lead audits, manage projects and participate in audit assignments in a team environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management.
    • Proficiency in risk assessment, issue/impact analysis and executive report preparation.
    • Enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take risk.
    • Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and encourages participation.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner and with minimal supervision.
    • CPA, CFA, FRM or similar certification strongly preferred.
