Position Summary:

The successful applicant will be a key member of the operations project support team(team of 20), who partner with technology & product development to design, develop and implement enhanced solutions for various business units across the end to end operating model within investor services.

Example of current in flight programs.

 

Swaps Program – implementation of enhanced processing capabilities within the core investment system (Hiportfolio) and integration with upstream applications and down stream reporting engines.

 

Regulatory Reporting – development of reporting solutions to satisfy regulator changes for accounting standard changes for superannuation funds, and APRA reporting changes.

 

The candidate will also provide expert guidance and assistance with system upgrades and software patches, ensuring testing is appropriate both in nature and coverage.

 

To succeed in this role you must have proven leadership, proactive decision making and coaching skills gained from experience in the finance industry, ideally in a back office environment. You will be a highly organised individual who thrives in a demanding and fast paced work environment.  Your leader will seek your expertise and give you the support to achieve.

 

The role provides the candidate the opportunity to work across multi disciplines from investment reporting, transaction processing, compliance & performance reporting, taxation reporting.


Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical knowledge and guidance for new asset types.
  • Provide technical knowledge and guidance for new products and initiatives
  • Provide support for system upgrades and software patches
  • Proactively contribute to improve system resilience and automated monitoring and alerting
  • Act as an escalation point for support matters during project warranty periods

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Strong knowledge of one of the operational disciplines e.g. transaction processing, investment reporting, tax, compliance, financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of market instruments.
  • Ability to work independently within an agile project structure
  • A good understanding of the custody business, especially funds administration including processes and workflows.
  • Good communication skills – both verbal & written.

Formal Qualifications:

  • No specific formal qualifications are necessary; however attainment of academic qualification demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and development. Relevant qualifications would therefore include a finance or IT related degree.
