Business Process Management Senior Associate

Job Description

JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., is seeking to fill a position (“BPMSA”) to work on information ownership, risk management and control related initiatives associated with commercial mortgage lending origination processes and related systems. The role requires a seasoned level person to be responsible for all information ownership activities for the assigned systems. The BPMSA will work closely within and between lines of business, Technology and corporate infrastructure, interfacing with all management levels. The BPMSA will elicit, analyze, communicate and validate system requirements; define and document information ownership standards and procedures; manage projects; and participate in strategic discussions regarding data management and control. While initially an individual contributor position, the BPMSA will generally assume a leadership role on projects taking direction from his or her manager and the program managers regarding assignments and work.

Requirements

This role requires strong analytical and business process mapping skills, preferably with experience in a related business or information systems setting. A thorough working knowledge of database technology and concepts is required. The candidate must have strong skills in problem solving, cross organizational collaboration, team building, and verbal and written communication. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the mortgage loan origination industry is required. Team leadership or managerial experience is required. Formal business analyst experience is strongly desired. In addition to suitability for the immediate role, candidates will be evaluated for their aptitude to progress into an expanded role with increased purview and responsibilities.

  • Highly self-motivated, requiring little oversight and direction to complete assignments
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment including business and technology personnel
  • Adept at gathering and documenting business process and policy requirements
  • Knowledgeable about information systems and technology, particularly business process management and relational databases, including but not limited to:
    • Database architecture concepts and best practices
    • Data mapping and transformation
    • Data extraction, manipulation and reporting techniques and tools
  • Adept at developing use cases, process diagrams, traceability matrices, functional requirements and other business materials common to an information systems project
  • Knowledgeable about information systems and technology, particularly business process management, web applications and client server databases
  • Able to develop and present business proposals and business cases, including but not limited to benefit analyses and key performance indicators to measure project success
  • Working knowledge and application of project management methodologies
  • Adept at working on multiple, concurrent projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Project, MS Visio and MS PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Directing and managing information ownership, risk management and control related initiatives
  • Understanding commercial mortgage lending compliance and regulatory standards, and aligning business processes, policies and practices therewith
  • Identifying, understanding and managing application, system and data access to align with corporate standards and control procedures
  • Ensuring systems comply with corporate data retention policies
  • Developing and documenting data classification for applications in accordance with corporate data management standards
  • Identifying and advising about key risks, controls and opportunities for process improvements
  • Requirements elicitation and documentation
  • Solution analysis and recommendation
  • Business process analysis, design and documentation (process modeling)
  • Defining and executing control assessments and monitoring practices
  • Cost benefit analysis and key performance indicators
Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of science/arts degree (BS/BA) is preferred
    • IIBA Business Analyst certification a plus
    • Project Management certification a plus
