Business Process Analyst I

Job Description

The Program and Project Management Services Group (PPMSG) provides a consistent delivery model and infrastructure for the design, management, and execution of key Business & Technology related Programs and Projects. Core services and expertise include Program and Project Structures, Processes, Controls, Tools, Tactical Sourcing and Training that support strategic Program and Project managers across the CCB Operations organization.


Position Overview

As a Business Process Analyst I on the Tactical Services Team in the PPMSG, you will be responsible for the execution, analysis, training, & management of key Program/Project disciplines. Position reports directly to a VP Project Manager and typically supports several Programs, working concurrently with Event Managers, Program and Project Managers (PM). Often operating independently, this position is empowered to make recommendations & propose tailored options that best align to assigned Program/Project Groups.


Work Breakdown


Project Execution

  • Support project governance oversight through independent quality assurance, analysis and validation of project deliverables submitted by 602 and 603 level Project Managers.
  • For new project setup, claim new projects created in the CCB Operations Book of Work (BoW) and create new projects (DM) in the PPL tool.
  • Assist Event Lead/PM's with Continuous Release Project Prioritization activities, following Demand Management guidelines/requirements for eligible candidates. Complete applicable maintenance in tools (PPL, BOW, Clarity) to update and synchronize.
  • Provide Adhoc support/guidance to PMs on tool navigation/form completion, PLC processes, deliverables and controls.
  • Generate canned or customized reports from tools (PPL, Clarity, BOW) to accommodate a specific PM or Management request; can also include the development of reports not available within the separate tools or from the PMO.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and daily guidance to 602 and 603 level Project Managers on usage of project management tools and adherence to processes; manage project SharePoint site, as required.
  • Independently inspect appropriate use of tools by Project Managers and advise on updates/corrections, as required.


Deployment Execution

  • Develop deployment approaches
  • Drive critical path planning sessions
  • Create & develop Play Books/Command Center Guides, as assigned
  • Facilitate lessons learned sessions
  • Program/Project Reporting - Standard & Custom

  • Implement standard or custom reporting processes.

  • Manage the process for consolidation of reporting & aggregate rollup.

  • Design & create custom scorecards to support unique Program/Project needs.

  • Assist the collection of key Health Check Metrics for syndication with Senior Management.


Issue Resolution

Assist the resolution team as required (supplement to Project Manager) to identify and/or capture options & next steps for issue closure; align on necessity for escalation with Project Managers & Business Leads


Deliverables Management

  • Establish minimum Program/Projects deliverables
  • Design custom Work plan templates, as required.
  • Confirm start and end dates for all deliverables, and ensure alignment to the appropriate Program/Project phase.
  • Establish deliverable placeholders on SharePoint
  • Create & maintain Deliverables Control Matrix report (DCM)


Process Execution

  • Develop and deliver customized Program / Project training materials. 
  • Establish performance standards for issues, action items, change controls, and deliverables; monitor performance against established standards.
  • Inspect project & program documentation for compliance to established process standards and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Identify and escalate emerging risks.
  • Implement best practices, as identified
  • Independently determine data reporting format and data organization and content to be used by Event Managers, Project Managers or Business Unit Stakeholders enabling business decisions to be made
  • Secure Roadmap sign-off/approval from all participating Core team leads.





  • Advanced business analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of Program or Project Management disciplines.
  • Ability to influence & manage change across complex Program/Projects within a matrixed environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Program Management Office structures, processes and tools (Clarity, PPL, BoW) strongly preferred.
  • Prior Deployment experience strongly preferred (Command Center Mgmt, Critical Path, Guides etc).
  • Knowledge of Project Lifecycles & supporting processes, core deliverables and tools (e.g., MS Project)
  • Experience Managing Projects.
  • Ability to lead or co-lead Program or Project team planning sessions & other key meetings.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to work independently with minimal direct oversight in highly matrixed business & technology environments.
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills.
  • Independent decision making.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet routine and fluctuating deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization; including reducing complex ideas and processes into simple pictures & words.
  • SharePoint development/maintenance skills highly desirable, preferably in SharePoint 2013
