CIB Regional Business Resiliency Manager – Job Description
The Regional Business Resiliency Manager (Manager) oversees the resiliency program for multiple lines of business (LOB) within the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) in all sites within the region. He/she possesses a strong knowledge of the corporate and investment banking business and is responsible for driving best practice, ensuring consistency in program execution while enforcing corporate policies and standards. The Manager will be required to identify and communicate resiliency risks to Senior Business Managers and Governance Committees, and articulate the firm’s resiliency capabilities to regulatory bodies. The Manager must fully understand the implications of corporate requirements, in conjunction with regional/country regulatory requirements in regards to the LOB‘s resiliency function and direction.
The Manager is a subject matter expert in Business Resiliency / Continuity (BC), along with Technology Resiliency (TR). In addition to having a sound foundation in core firm resiliency activities, the manager will be able to lead end to end quality reviews; assess the activities of resiliency professionals in the LOB; and actively participate as a member of the global CIB Resiliency management team.
The Manager will drive the response and coordination efforts for crisis management and communicate effectively to regional leadership and other crisis teams.
The Manager is responsible for the integrity of resiliency data metrics and reporting, ensuring a minimum of 90% compliance is achieved on a monthly basis. He/she will have a strong knowledge and linkage to technology to ensure the business and technology recovery strategies are aligned. He/she will maintain oversight of the Technology Resiliency monthly metrics to ensure that there is no exposure to the business. The Manager is able to architect functions and facilities to be resilient and suggest steps to mitigate resiliency risk where they may arise.
Establishing effective working partnerships with Global Real Estate, GTI, Global Resiliency & Crisis Management and Global Security is essential. He/she needs to develop and maintain a full understanding of the site critical systems, location strategy, physical security risks and technology infrastructure. The Manager is required to understand critical elements of electrical, HVAC, technical, and telephony infrastructures of strategic sites. He/she will socialize / facilitate critical site infrastructure related activities, including Major Event Project Calendar events, projects with major change elements to site, mitigating potential resiliency risk to site and LOBs. The manager will act as key stakeholder for all recovery positions utilized by CIB within their region, performing a leadership role to ensure their preparedness and effectiveness.
The Manager is responsible for representing the resiliency component of “Air Traffic Control” (ATC), “New Business Initiatives Assessment” (NBIA) ensuring timely review, information analysis and feedback/approval. Engagement required in on-boarding and review activities of Third Party Vendors affecting LOBs residing in strategic sites. Analysis / validation of Third Party Oversight review versus Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) required. Industry engagement with peer financial institutions and other industries will be required.
The Manager will provide expert advice for client Requests for Proposal or Request for Information (RFP/RFI) activities and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner. He/she will represent CIB effectively by presenting the resiliency program to prospective and existing external clients.
The Manager is responsible for the design, development and execution of tabletop exercises for clients internally and in special cases, externally, to demonstrate organizational preparedness.
The Manager will ensure the function is prepared for audits and regulatory reviews to ensure the business resiliency capabilities are in order.
The Manager will support the firms “People agenda” to develop and guide their staff, provide a growth path/succession plan for each member of the team and drive “continuous improvement” initiatives to mature the resiliency function in region as a priority. Ensure LOB Coordinators are aware of their responsibilities and adhere to the corporate testing and compliance requirements.
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
· 10+ years relevant experience
· Knowledge of the firm/business
· Business continuity/resiliency planning expert
