Training Officer I - Sales and Wealth Management - Seattle

Job Description

The Role:


Sales and Wealth Management Field Delivery - Training Officer I is a Trainer/Facilitator who reports to a Training Manager or Senior Training Manager.  The Training Officer 1 delivers multiple Sales training programs to support the branch network, and trains all levels of  branch sales staff, potentially including but not limited to Bankers, Branch Managers, Financial Advisors and Market Directors. Training focuses on all aspects of branch sales and service skills as deemed appropriate for both new hire and existing employee audiences.  The Training Officer I may be mentored by a Training Officer II, Lead Trainer while learning new content, and may also be given stretch goals to participate in projects that enhance credibility and expertise accordingly.


The Training Officer I will work to achieve established CCB Learning goals by staying current on all assigned training content, and delivering same in an engaging, effective manner as assessed by routine training observations and as evaluated by all participants in attendance.  A Training Officer I may work on related project teams as needed, and should actively seek avenues for completion of developmental goals.  The Training Officer I will assist the Training Manager with other tasks when needed and perform other duties as requested or directed.



  • Demonstrates the 5 Keys to a Great Customer Experience to participants and partners on a daily basis.
  • Facilitates classroom and virtual training following Instructor’s Guide which has been approved by Legal and Compliance.
  • Facilitates small and large groups based on the curriculum design and delivery method, may be in classroom environment or virtually  
  • Readily able to assess participants' understanding of course content and changes delivery method accordingly.  Quickly reacts to the learning needs of participants. 
  • Can work with other trainers to co-facilitate classes seamlessly.
  • Utilizes adult learning theory and adjusts training methodology of the course agenda to accommodate trainees with special learning needs.
  • Uses good judgment and able to make some decisions independently.
  • Crafts responses to questions in an appropriate and positive manner to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Prepares classroom materials and sets-up room prior to class (e.g. tent cards, flip charts, etc.).
  • Sends pre/post class memos.
  • Delivers material in a clear, concise, engaging and interactive manner.
  • Learns to deliver a variety of training methods within approved programs. 
  • Closes rosters, returns classroom to pre-class condition, and secures training facility after class.
  • Quickly learns and delivers unfamiliar topics with minimal notice or preparation time to meet business needs.
  • Cross trains on multiple topics and is viewed as an expert in content. 
  • Coaches and counsels trainees on performance in class and through observations in the classroom.   
  • Determines through role-plays whether trainees will meet standards to successfully perform the desired branch behaviors 
  • Identifies updates needed in training program and collaborates with Training Manager and the development team for a solution to continually improve programs. 
  • Completes expense reports, program evaluations, class rosters and other administrative documentation as required. 
  • Maintains proper inventory of training materials and supplies. 
  • Stays current and adapts easily to changes in course content, policies and procedures, and regulations.
  • May participate on project teams to support department goals.




·               At least 3-5 years of successful branch sales experience required

·               At least 2 years of Branch Manager or equivalent management experience required

·               Facilitation or presentation experience required

·               Ability to travel when needed, 50%-75% of the time

·               Organization skills and ability to multi-task.

·               Ability to be flexible in reacting and adapting quickly to changes

·               Excellent verbal and written communications.

·               Excellent coaching skills in all forms of communication.

·               Demonstrates outstanding presentation, oral and written communication skills.

·               Demonstrates professional demeanor. 

·               Proficient PC skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).

·               Flexible with training dates.

·               Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in a function related discipline.
