Application Developer for Cobol in ACAPS mainframe for real-time channel in credit application decisioning.


As a Mainframe Application Developer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments, Maintenance, and providing 24x7 supports. 
  • Utilize mature programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
  • Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security   requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with
  • Agile and Project Life Cycle Methodology experience.
  • Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules.
  • Read and understand business requirements, write functional requirements, develop detailed technical designs, and build / unit / system test application code.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.
  • Provide implementation and post implementation support for application code and system maintenance releases.
  • Provide third level production support for the suite of applications. Participate in Incident Management, Root Cause Analysis and High Risk reviews. Perform hands on triage and break fix (level 3 support), adhoc reporting.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience with mainframe based applications built with COBOL, CICS, JCL, CA7  and CHANGEMAN
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience with mainframe based applications built with IMS, DB2 and VSAM
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in mainframe programming
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Batch and online system with credit card or financial systems with high throughput and quick response times is preferred.
  • Functional experience with change management, implementation planning and release management
  • Experience in code management and versioning methodologies with experience with a leading code management
  • Financial industry experience and credit or payment systems experience in large scale/high volume  industry is preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must work well either independently or as part of a team with a strong desire to excel
  • Good business knowledge of end-to-end Credit processing preferred
