Job Description

Securitized Products Middle Office provides support to the Securitized Products Group, which originates and trades in products including Real Estate Structured Finance, Residential Mortgage bond portfolio, Non-Performing Commercial Loans, Agency, ABS Originations and Secondary Trading, Management and Conduits and Max Recovery. The Middle Office is responsible for liaising with various other supporting teams such as Product Control, Financial Control, Asset Valuation Group, Swaps, Legal, Treasury Services, Accounts Payable, Business Management and Technology to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
 
Purpose of the Role
Primarily to provide support for the portfolio of Commercial Mortgage loans and the Asset-Backed and Residential Mortgage portfolios.
 
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily oversight of performance of loans in the portfolio, engaging with Settlements and Loan Ops teams
  • Liaise with Third party servicers for Residential loan portfolio and for externally Agented loans.
  • Calculate payment waterfall for loans and bonds
  • Make payments directly from external bank accounts to the lending entities
  • Liaise with hedging counterparties
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Communicate accurately and concisely with all parties
  • Develop a working knowledge of debt products and workflow of the loans and bonds from initial funding to release of securities upon paydown / maturity
  • Take ownership of routine middle office functions such as weekly metrics, KYC and invoice payments
  • Manage monthly upload of Residential loan database and run validation reports
  • Prepare investor and supplemental reports
  • Partner with other line of business groups to provide support, backup, and suggestions for improvement
  • Partner with technology to suggest system improvements based on the businesses need for improved oversight and control.
  • Provide discussion points and feedback in weekly meetings.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of fixed income instruments (specifically securitized products) preferred
  • Working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups) & Access
  • Motivated and driven personality
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Highly organized with strong follow through skills
  • Excellent communication and ability to share feedback with peers and management
  • Must be a team player who is open to feedback and works well with others
  • Effective problem solving skills, and very detail oriented
  • Confident with the ability to work in a busy and pressured business environment
