Team Summary

The Accounting Transition team, provides Australian and NZ accounting clients with transition support.

The team specializes in the processing and management of:

  • all new client on boarding including tax and accounting data,
  • incremental transitions and restructures of existing clients records and,
  • client exits

These transactions are processed into Hiport and other related internal accounting systems such as PATAN.


During a transition the team will, as required, have interaction with Clients, Transition Managers, Fund Managers as well as all other internal teams including Transition planning team, Investment Analytics, Transaction Management, Instruction Management, Corporate Actions, Reconciliations Team.


Clients include, Superannuation funds, Fund Managers, Unit Trust Managers and Companies.


Position Summary

Oversight and Management of the following Accounting Transitions functions

    • New Client on boarding
    • Existing client restructures
    • BAU Transitions
  • Lead in the design of product solutions in response to clients and to enhance Service.
  • Lead in RFP responses
  • Manage the team to internal deadlines and agreements detailed within Client Service Level Agreements
  • Ensuring all issues are escalated to management in a timely manner

Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and Management of team deliverables in line with deadlines as per SLA
  • Responsible for ensuring that all instructions are sent with accuracy by client, custodian and market cut offs
  • Responsible for providing accurate and timely notification to Fund Managers and direct clients on trade issues that require their amendment / investigation within the deadlines defined in the SOP’s and SLA’s.
  • Ensure that customer service levels provided to all internal and external parties meet departmental and business unit standards in accordance with SOP’s and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
  • Adhere to existing controls, implementing new controls and suggest improvements via the correct channels to minimize the potential for financial and reputational loss to the Team, Department and Bank.
  • Deal with internal and external parties in a professional manner and in a manner within the best interests of the Client and Bank.
  • Adhere to at all times, the JPMorgan Code of Conduct, Privacy Policy and Privacy principles, Compliance and Risk regulations, escalating to Senior, Manager, Operations Manager or other Management in the event of a breach or potential breach


  • Relevant investment related qualification
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Financial Markets is essential
  • Minimum 5 Years management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of financial markets and instruments, both domestic and international particularly in Equities, Fixed Interest, Futures, Options and Foreign Exchange.
  • Strong Project management experience
  • Previous experience working closely with clients
  • Preferred knowledge of internal systems, HiPortolio, Matchbox, Everest Reprocessor, Cosmic / Mainframe, TLM, Patan
  • Client Service & Investment Accounting experience an advantage
