CIB - Operations - Operations Project Team, Tax & Fin Rep - VP - Sydney

Job Description

Position Summary:
The successful applicant will be senior member of the operations project team (team of 20) in the role of a product owner (Supporting Tax and financial Reporting software development). The product owner is a leadership role within a project delivery team that partners with technology & product development to design, develop and implement enhanced solutions in relation to taxation services &/or financial reporting services.
  
To succeed in this role you must have proven leadership, proactive decision making and coaching skills gained from experience in the finance industry, ideally in a back office environment within tax services &/or financial reporting. You will be a highly organised individual who thrives in a demanding and fast paced work environment.  Your leader will seek your expertise and give you the support to achieve.
 
The role provides the candidate the opportunity to work across multi disciplines from investment reporting, tax aware transaction processing and taxation reporting.

Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical knowledge and leadership to the project team in relation to tax and accounting principles in relation to superannuation and managed investment scheme’s reporting.
  • Provide technical knowledge and guidance for new products, initiatives and legislative changes.
  • Provide support for system upgrades and software patches
  • Proactively contribute to improve system resilience and automated monitoring and alerting
  • Act as an escalation point for support matters during project warranty periods

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Strong knowledge of one of the operational disciplines e.g. investment reporting, tax reporting, financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of market instruments & tax consequences
  • Ability to lead an agile project team
  • A good understanding of the custody business, especially funds administration including processes and workflows
  • Good communication skills – both verbal & written

Formal Qualifications:

  • Relevant Tax &/or Accounting qualifications
