Relationship Manager - Auto Finance - Phoenix, AZ or Denver, CO (or Work at Home)

Job Description

Chase Dealer Commercial Services is part of JP Morgan Chase's Auto Finance group, a division of Consumer & Community Banking, and serves more than 2,000 dealerships throughout the U.S. with annual revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $20 billion. The Dealer Commercial Services Relationship Manager (RM) will work directly with the DCS Business Development Managers and interact and liaison with other areas of the organization (predominantly  Credit, Client Services and Treasury Sales as well as DCS Regional Bankers) to assist in the on boarding of new “top tier” client relationships. The Relationship Manager will not have primary business development responsibilities.  This role will report to the National Sales Executive.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited, to the following:
  1. Perform initial Underwriting, assist in credit structuring and prepare Opportunity Memo’s  on all credit requests generated by the Business Development Managers. Coordinate with credit underwriting, legal, documentation and operations to insure the timely approval and on-boarding of new requests. (40%)
  2. In conjunction with the CSP and other appropriate product partners, the RM will be responsible to ensure client operational needs are serviced in a timely and high quality manner.  (15%)
  3. Assist in conducting periodic relationship reviews with existing clients to insure we are providing the appropriate product set, and exceeding clients’ expectations. (15%)
  4. Assist in preparing due diligence from an AML and reputational risk perspective, with a focus on the clients business, management team, strategy, product usage with JPMC and account activity via direct client interaction. (10%)
  5. Responsible for the oversight, escalation and resolution of any AML-identified compliance issues, as well as any reputational or negative media issues, in coordination with the DCS KYC/AML team and the appropriate escalation forum. (10%)
  6. Coordinate with Regional and District Management in all shared-responsibility situations. (10%)
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. College degree, with an advanced degree desirable.
  2. Successful completion of a formal bank sponsored credit training program or formal training or experience in an underwriting role.
  3. At least 5 years of middle market banking, credit underwriting experience or equivalent experience. Additionally, previous treasury and client service experience is strongly preferred. 
  4. Strong client-facing skills.  Polished, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  5. Strong investigatory, due diligence and risk analysis skills.
  6. Able to present risk issues in a succinct and cogent manner to senior leaders.
  7. Familiarity with loan and other contractual documentation highly desirable.
  8. Familiarity with complex client organization structures highly desirable.
  9. Diligent, detail-oriented and thorough.
  10. Persistent and willing to follow through to resolve and document issues appropriately and in a manner in keeping with sound risk management practices.
  11. Able to work independently multi-task and handle a sizeable account load.
  12. Able to travel on a regional /national basis as necessary.
