VP, Custody & Fund Services Compliance

Job Description

To ensure ongoing support of the current and expanding Custody and Funds Services (CFS) business strategy in Asia Pacific, the CFS Compliance team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer. The role is to provide compliance and regulatory advice for the CFS business which includes Global and Direct Custody, Fund Services, Agency Lending, Depository Receipts and Collateral Management.

Key tasks:
  • Work independently on all advisory compliance tasks and regulatory matters arising from the CFS business while ensuring a consistent approach across the region.
  • Identify issues and implement control procedures to remain in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Prepare management and governance reports on a monthly basis.
  • Lead/assist with internal desk top reviews.
  • Provide regular training to business.
  • Work closely with Location compliance and the Compliance Practice group on policy development, self-assessments and compliance reporting where required.
  • Work closely with the business when new product lines or expansion of products is being developed.
  • Provide general compliance knowledge of Anti-money laundering and sanctions, conflicts management, Information barriers, data privacy and bank secrecy is also beneficial
  • Minimum 5-7 years regulatory or risk management experience gained within a financial institution or regulator
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business partners
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects and ensure resolution of issues through to completion.
  • Preferably good Custody and Fund Services product knowledge
  • Knowledge or experience of relevant regulatory requirements and their practical application in operational process or product features
  • Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in English at all levels both orally and in writing
  • Ability to deliver high quality results as part of a geographically dispersed global compliance team
  • General understanding of local rules and regulations across Asia
