Job Description

This Senior Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to a staff of Loan Servicing team members performing a variety of functions to facilitate the processing of credit facilities and loans.  Primary responsibilities include - supporting the VP in the professional development of the loan servicing staff through effective leadership by providing coaching and feedback, meeting service levels, production workflows, and training.  Establish, maintain, validate and control accurate data records within processing systems.  Support the execution of strategic business initiatives, workflow design, and implementation of the department's goals and objectives.  Must ensure that the responsibilities of meeting staffing requirements and special projects are carried out in a competent and cost effective manner.  Monitor daily work schedules.  Serve as a subject matter expert. Resolve escalation items received from the Loan Servicing Managers, Front Office and Credit Services Center.  Client and investor relationship management.  Able to function as a backup to the staff, requiring an understanding of the staff's responsibilities. 
 
Responsibilities will include end-to-end loan transaction processing and servicing of existing loans including disbursement of funds and maintenance of loan for externally agented deals. Servicing of loans includes billing and collection of interest and fees set-ups, accounting for accruals and collection.
 
Responsibilities:
§  People and resource management (e.g. people development, pipeline/skills monitoring, training programs) for a team of  30 - 40 + FTE's.
§  Maintain effective and standard operational processes
§  Improving and maintaining a controlled environment (e.g. necessary controls activities along process flow implemented, appropriate control tools in place, team members fully understand risks and related controls) 
§  Manage relationship with internal clients, anticipate needs, take feedback, run conference calls.
§  Act as a point of reference for team members and internal clients.
§  Monitor and actively prioritize workloads. Send early warning reports if workloads impact turnaround time or quality parameters.
§  Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
§  Identify/ manage risk and control breakdowns.
§  Manage the performance management cycle- Objective setting, development and career planning, performance appraisal and reward & recognition.
§  Conduct regular team meetings (onshore and offshore staff), 1:1s, and coaching sessions.
§  Improve the departmental competency rating via use of staff training and the skills matrix.
§  Manage small projects and conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements to current systems or migration to new system.
 
Essential Skills & Experience -- include specifics regarding academic/ professional qualifications (e.g. degree, university, results), # yrs total and # yrs relevant work experience, relevant employers, relevant experience (nature of work/ job functions)
§  Excellent people and resource management skills (e.g. people development, pipeline/skills monitoring, training programs).
§  Ability to develop, implement and maintain effective and standard operational processes
§  Ability to maintain and improve a strong controlled environment (e.g. necessary controls activities along process flow implemented, appropriate control tools in place, team members fully understand risks and related controls) 
§  Ability to manage relationship with internal clients. Past experience in this area with emphasis on service level deliveries, expectations setting, new products etc. is a must.
§  Act as a point of reference for team members and internal clients.
§  Ability to monitor and actively priorities workloads.
Ability to interpret and analyze system generated reports and other data, co-relate and analyze impact  to overall processes and process deliveries and feed results into the decision making process
 
Graduates with a minimum of 12 - 15 years experience in a bank, hospitality, financial services/ or other service sector environment OR Qualified professionals (e.g. CA, ICWA, and MBA) with 10 - 12 yrs relevant experience.
§  Strong Interpersonal skills. Should be able to communicate at all levels.
§  Sound knowledge of legal documentation expertise in loan documentation. General understanding of banking.
§  Behavioral skills, Leadership, Problem solving and time management
§  Strong planning, negotiation and analytical skills
§  Excellent business writing and verbal English communication skills
§  Proficient use of PC software for document and worksheet preparation/presentation
§  Strong control and quality management skills; accuracy and attention to detail is vital.
§  Assertive and self-confident, comfortable when interacting with senior management.
§  Previous experience of change management (e.g. new system implementation , business restructuring) within the organization
§  Excellent coaching skills.
§  Good delegation skills.
§  Well developed negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills.
