We are looking to recruit a dynamic, energetic Head of GIM UK Compliance with successful experience working in the asset management business, partnering with and providing credible challenge to the business.  The successful candidate will have managed a best in class Compliance team for a large, complex and expanding business applying a thorough knowledge of UK and EU asset management, financial services and corporate law and regulation.  The Head of GIM UK Compliance is part of an EMEA and  global GIM and AM Compliance team and leads a team of around 8 Compliance professionals based in London reporting to the GIM EMEA Head of Compliance.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Structuring and supervising the GIM UK Compliance team, overseeing the UK Compliance program and supporting the GIM EMEA Head and also the CCO  
  • Working closely with the GIM EMEA Head, the cross LOB EMEA Head of Compliance, the GWM UK team and the wider global GIM Compliance teams
  • Working closely with the corporate compliance team and compliance teams in other lines of business in JPMC
  • Working closely with GIM UK business leads and their senior management teams as well as control function colleagues to advise on and facilitate regulatory compliance in respect of all GIM UK related products and services  
Skills/Experience required:
 
  • An impressive academic background and experience in financial services and successful track record of dealing with senior business leaders and control colleagues
  • Successful track record leading a high performing Compliance team, demonstrating strong people leadership and management skills
  • A demonstrated ability to lead a team strategically as well as from a strong technical perspective
  • Must be well versed in the EU and UK asset management industry and have a profound understanding of existing and forthcoming regulatory requirements and developments
  • Deep understanding of both traditional and alternative asset management products and services
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with clients where appropriate
  • Excellent written, oral and presentational skills
  • Strong academic background and relevant professional qualifications
  • Good communication with functional and business stakeholders
  • Manage team capacity and planning, maintain adequate staffing levels, e.g. recruitment, retention
  • Manage and develop staff, e.g. training and professional development, mobility and career-path definition
  • Foster a positive work environment and develop core competencies in all staff
