Legal - TPMO Risk Remediation Officer - Associate - NJ

The Legal Third Party Management Office (Legal TPMO) is a centralized department within Legal that manages the Third Party Oversight for all Legal practice groups.   Legal TPMO provides consistent monitoring of all third party activity in order to ensure compliance to the Corporate TPO standards implemented to comply with regulatory requirements across the Legal organization.  This position is responsible for fulfilling the role of Delivery Manager for Legal vendors with respect to the IT and Operational Risk Assessments that are required as part of the TPO program.
The TPMO Risk Remediation Manager will join the Legal Third Party Management team, becoming a subject matter expert in the Corporate Third Party Oversight (CTPO) risk management data and processes, with specific responsibility for managing, overseeing and acting as Delivery Manager with respect to the IT and Operational Risk Assessment processes governing all vendors managed through the Legal TPO Program.   The ideal candidate will work closely with IT Risk Management, Legal Discovery Management, Operational Risk, internal JPMC attorneys, attorneys, CTO's and senior staff at Law Firms and Vendors to manage the risk assessment and remediation plans identified as a result of risk assessments and reviews.  The TPMO Risk Remediation Manager will be asked to contribute to the development and delivery of training relative to the TPO program.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Own and provide dedicated support for consistent and accurate completion of all IT and Operational Risk Assessment documentation required for all Legal vendors as part of Third Party Oversight; maintaining and uploading information to appropriate technology applications (Phoenix) and managing workflow through interaction with vendor
  • Work with Risk Assessment teams and Legal TPMO to communicate assessments with Legal vendors, review remediation plans, follow-up on completion of remediation and reporting of status.
  • Develop working relationships with contacts at the vendors and risk assessment teams to foster a partnership in completing activities.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of TPO policies and business operation processes and systems to provide recommendations for enhancements to improve data quality, workflow and process.
  • Experience with IT Risk and other risk management issues, assessments and resolutions
  • Ability to develop efficient workflow processes, using technology solutions (SharePoint, Excel, etc)
  • Ability to work effectively within an extended and matrix team environment
  • Develop a strong understanding of the TPO Policies & Procedures
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to focus and pay attention to detail
  • Highly motivated with positive 'can do' attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and networks across all levels of management.
