The objective of the COO Financial Analytics is to provide financial analyses on a variety of strategic topics to JPMC’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and senior management in the Corporate Sector. The team focuses on executing select high-visibility projects requiring partnership and buy-in from senior management across LOBs and Functions. In addition, the team supports the efforts of Strategic Expense Management, which is tasked with leading the end-to-end firmwide expense initiatives, ensuring the right controls and governance frameworks are in place around firmwide expenses, and generating ideas round efficiency and productivity improvements. Finally, COO Financial Analytics identifies, manages and executes high-value add deals and partnerships with 3rd parties and other financial institutions, which promote cost savings, leading technologies, efficient execution of regulatory requirements, and the creation of new and impactful business opportunities in the industry. The team reports to the Corporate Sector COO / CFO, and partners with Corporate functions including for example Strategic Expense Management, Strategic Investments, Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, Global Real Estate, Central Technology, Sourcing & Procurement, Operational Control and all the other corporate functions.
The team is small and nimble, allowing for senior management exposure at all levels, and the opportunity to take a leadership role on various projects. The team offers a great platform for highly motivated and self directed individuals to accelerate their career. Majority of team has prior experience in Investment Banking or Strategy Consulting.
The ideal candidate will have approximately 5-7 years experience in investment banking, consulting, or finance with an emphasis on analytical work. Building on their prior experience, the candidate would have strong intellectual curiosity and would be looking for a position with a strong strategic focus. Past experience working in a matrix organization with demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a team and strong ability to influence are essential.
Undergraduate degree; sciences, economics, engineering, or finance preferred
Top-tier MBA highly preferred
Prior experience in investment banking (coverage or product group) or consulting highly preferred
Computer literacy skills (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
Knowledge of Hyperion/Essbase, SAP preferred but not required Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
