The Credit Risk, VP position within the Retail Indirect Portfolio Risk Management team in Auto Finance Risk is a high-visibility role that requires frequent interaction and communication with Senior Management and cross-functional business partners.
The candidate must be self-motivated and demonstrate creative problem solving with a proven track record of success working in a fast-paced and energetic environment.  The candidate must also have a good balance between business acumen and strong analytical skills to support portfolio risk management dynamics. 
This role will assist the Risk Director by providing support related to the credit risk management function of the Retail Indirect Auto Finance portfolio which includes management of credit policies and portfolio trends with the objective of profitable growth and includes partnering with Business Operations, Finance, Product/Pricing, Collections, and IT teams to help drive risk initiatives forward.  Expectations of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Work independently to successfully complete end to end process related to analytical tasks starting with problem identification, defining objectives, data discovery, synthesis and analysis of large & complex data points, formulating concise conclusions with actionable recommendations, and creating presentations to pitch findings and/or strategies.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance key risk indicators to improve monitoring reports/tools to gauge underwriting, production, vintages, point-in-time portfolio and risk/reward dynamic of credit policy changes.
  • Provide support on Retail Indirect Risk team’s book of work projects which can include, but are not limited to, regulatory, control/audit, customer experience, and/or Profit & Loss related tasks.
  • Provide credit risk subject matter expertise on business initiatives across Auto Finance.
  • Provide SME oversight on policy or system change implementations that affect credit risk.
  • Document and communicate analytical findings with insights to senior staff within Auto Finance.
  • Collaborate with other Risk Analysts, including providing guidance to offshore team, to fulfill team objectives
  • At least 5 years of risk analytical experience with demonstrated knowledge and application of risk management concepts, including statistical analysis.   Financial services background required with Auto finance experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and proficient use of analytical software with at least 5 years of SAS programming experience required.  Prior experience with statistical techniques such as regression, decision trees, and segmentation techniques preferred.
  • Capability to work independently and handle projects with minimum supervision while contributing to the team’s knowledge base by proposing new and value added methods on approaching problems and projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, communication and presentation skills with the capability to build confidence and credibility within our organization required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver quality work products under time critical deadlines while handling multiple projects required.
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Engineering, or related quantitative field preferred.  Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field required.
