Organization & Team Overview

The Financial Information Reporting Solutions (FIRS) team is a new function that was formed to help create organizational capacity and reduce redundancy that exists in similar functions performed within the LOBs and other functions (maybe another word?). The team is focused on implementing cost effective and quality driven staffing models, as well as standardizing and centralizing oversight and control. The FIRS team will help to define and deliver target end state operating model and technology requirements to strategically source data required for both internal and external reporting, and will also assist in positioning the firm to better respond to changing regulatory environments and internal demand requests by deploying change centrally versus de-centrally.


Position Overview

In the role of Finance Operations Manager on the FIRS External Reporting Data Operations team, you will be focused on managing the support team responsible for the daily, monthly and quarterly production processing activities.  Additionally you will be responsible for managing project initiatives.  The key functions involved in this role.


  • Considerable involvement in projects/testing management affecting Business Users and related FIRS applications.
  • Management of the full project life cycle (Requirements, Design, SIT testing, UAT testing, Performance testing, Regression testing  and Implementation phases) of multiple projects, providing updates to the project teams on the status of the testing activities, as well as ensuring robust testing controls Supporting the daily, monthly and quarterly production processing activities.  Key production functions will include interacting with other FIRS and RFT (Risk & Finance Technology) partners with respect to the month/quarter end close calendar, preparing daily, monthly and quarterly application run-books, attendance tracking, supporting reconciliations and data validations, and providing support to the Business Users of FIRS supported applications. 
  • Support and management of client relations, communications, issue resolution, presentations, operating support models, procedures, system access/security as well as driving process improvements.
  • This position requires strong interpersonal and partnership skills. 
  • Ability to partner with Risk & Finance Technology, Project Teams and Line of Business Teams in order to manage and execute on established deliverables.
  • The candidate will be required to work with a sense of urgency and be able to balance and prioritize activities. 


  • Bachelors degree in Accounting / Finance or related discipline 
  • 7 plus years relevant work experience
  •  Previous experience in project management, reconciliation, research and data warehousing and managerial abilities are preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and Project Management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple deliverables concurrently to deliver high quality results in committed timeframes
  • Client business focused – ability  to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with the ability to present information at varying levels of detail depending on the audience
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills 
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel, SQL or other database, MS Project and Visio. 
  • Knowledge of firm’s financial and reference data systems as well as other financial applications including  FDW, Business Intelligence, TOAD,  ALM, R-Sam, Alacrity, HP Service Manager and Axiom SL
