Title: Finance Associate Chase Consumer Branded Card

Line of Business: Chase Consumer and Community Banking

Location: Wilmington, DE

 

Position Summary:

 

Chase Card Services is a major contributor to the JPMorgan Chase product platform, playing an essential role in the firm's Consumer & Community Banking franchise.  Card Services has approximately over 60MM credit cards in circulation and more than $120B in managed loans, making Chase the #1 credit card issuer (by outstandings) in the United States.


We are seeking a Financial Associate responsible for financial management, planning and results analysis, and decision support of our Consumer Branded credit card portfolio. This position interacts and partners closely with key Finance teams and Business partners to help deliver against strategic and financial objectives. The FA position offers an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge of credit card & payment industry economics, understand key P&L drivers, as well as gain exposure to firm-wide consumer strategies.

The role offers great visibility across the business as well as the broader JPMorgan Chase firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure results and forecasts are aligned with financial targets and business strategy
  • Analyze financial results and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations on performance to finance and business leadership
  • Create, maintain, and enhance multi-year financial models for the business, assessing the impact of strategic decisions and trade-offs on the P&L; prior experience in business case development is key
  • Assess industry trends, market size and structure and competitor benchmarks and measure effectiveness to ensure Card Services delivers with "customer first" mentality, the highest quality standards, and with high sense of urgency
  • Provide financial decision support to business unit General Managers and their teams through analytical, consultative projects that provide insights into portfolio, product, and customer behavior
  • Partner closely with Finance COE teams, including P&A, CCAR Forecasting, and Investment Valuation teams
  • Prepare senior management presentations for finance and business leadership to communicate financial performance and help drive strategy
  • Build and foster strong partnerships across key functional business teams and other lines of business

Qualifications:

    • Proven ability to perform complex data analysis and provide structured conclusions to all levels of management
    • Excellent thought leadership, strategic business acumen, and intellectual curiosity
    • Attention to detail and capable to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
    • Capacity to work cross-functionally to create efficiencies and develop solutions to business problems
    • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; ability to tailor messaging and communicate effectively across all levels of management
    • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to build and foster strong professional relationships across functions and lines of business
    • This role requires strong financial modeling and analytical skills; advanced level in Excel and Powerpoint and Hyperion Essbase; SQL & SAS code-writing proficiency preferred
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred but not required.
    • Prior experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting is a plus
